The new Manchester City signing, who broke the British transfer record when he joined from Aston Villa for £100 million, has now been made into a Lego figure.

Staff at Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester kitted the 25-year-old midfielder out in his new sky blue colours and placed the figure at his very own welcoming party outside a model of the club’s Etihad Stadium.

Jenn McDonough, Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester’s General Manager said: “All of us here at the centre are thrilled to welcome Jack to the City squad (except for the (Manchester) United fans of course) and wanted to show him a warm welcome, the best way we know how.

“He was a true asset to the England team during the Euros and we’re hoping he can hit the ground running with the blues and continue to impress us throughout the season.

“Our new Lego mini figure of Jack Grealish is our way of wishing him good luck at the club, however, we hope he’s a little less static when he takes to the pitch!”

After leaving his boyhood club to join City, Jack said he “teared up” in the same way that Lionel Messi did upon announcing his departure from Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain.

He said: "Everyone has seen the way Messi was at his final press conference.

"That is the exact way I felt myself.

"Before I left at the hotel I spoke to the team, the staff and the players and I teared up a bit myself."

Unfortunately for Jenn and Manchester City supporting Legoland staff, the good luck they sent Jack’s way couldn't prevent his new side crashing to defeat at the weekend.

The Citizens were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (16.8.21) with a second half goal by Son Heung Min proving the difference between the sides.
