Hitting the market just in time for the upcoming spooky season, the large four-bedroom property in South Pasadena, Los Angeles, was made famous in the 1978 film about murderous escaped mental patient Michael Myers starring Jamie Lee Curtis in the role that led to her being dubbed the “scream queen”.
The home is seen in scenes from John Carpenter’s classic slasher flick including one of Jamie Lee Curtis sitting on the front porch holding a pumpkin.
Despite its spine-tingling backstory, the estate agent handling the sale says it is in an area “considered a walker’s paradise”.
Heidi Babcock told Sky News: “Yes, this was a filming location for the 1978 film ‘Halloween’, as the house of Laurie Strode.
“If you watch the film you'll recognise the infamous stoop that Jamie Lee Curtis sat on, holding a pumpkin.”
In the 2021 sequel ‘Halloween Kills’ firefighters are murdered at the house.
Ms Babcock added: “This exceptional property is a wonderful place to live, work, and play in one of the most desirable communities in greater LA.”
In ‘Halloween’, the property sat in the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois.
According to the home’s listing, it is a triplex home containing three separate units for a total of four bedrooms and three full bathrooms.
The property includes a two-car garage that could be converted into an accessory dwelling unit or casita, the listing states.
Each unit has “picturesque windows and lovely views of the surrounding trees and neighbourhood” according to the listing and the property has a separate laundry room, a shared back patio, and an avocado tree that was planted by the seller’s grandfather in the 1940s.
The home was built in 1906 and interested buyers can view the property through a virtual or in-person tour.
