Soccer legend Glenn Hoddle says there is no such thing as death and that our “spirit lives on” in the afterlife.
The former England manager tapped into spirituality after suffering a cardiac arrest whilst working as a BT Sport pundit back in 2018 which very nearly cost him his life.
Hoddle, who was revived by sound engineer Simon Daniels, no longer takes life for granted and says every second of his life is “special”, and he now thinks of humans as bodies of energy.
Speaking on 'The High Performance Podcast', Hoddle, 64, said: “I just feel there’s a deep knowingness of who I really am inside of me now than before this happened. I’ve always believed in the afterlife.
“I do believe there’s a spirit there waiting for us all, a consciousness, and I’m tapping into that.”
He added: “We think our mind and body is us. But this had me think, and I looked into this for 40 years, searching.
“Since I’ve come back from being saved I’ve got a completely deeper outlook than I’ve ever had before.
“There’s no such thing as death. We live on. I call it extra time because I feel as though I’m extra time, and if it goes to penalties, it goes to penalties.”
