Glastonbury has been named as the most influential music festival globally, using the 'festival ripple effect' as an indicator of its reach.
The research - conducted by streaming service, Spotify - analysed the amount of streams following headline performances at 14 of the biggest festivals globally, comparing the number of plays in the fortnight before and after their performances.
Glastonbury headliners, who this year include Kasabian, Metallica and Arcade Fire, achieved a 78 percent increase in streams on average.
Australia's Future Music Festival also fared well, scoring three of the top 10 most globally streamed festival headliners including 'Happy' hitmaker, Pharrell Williams, who topped the poll.
