Chicken Nuggets

Jessica Thompson, 11, suddenly went off nearly all food at 18 months old and spent the next 10 years only eating the chicken snack.

Her mother Julia Cain told The Sun newspaper: "She would only eat chicken nuggets.

"She'd have three or four with fries, but usually didn't finish it.

"In her lunch box, she'd just have plain bread."

Jessica would curl up in a ball to avoid food and Julia discovered that her daughter was suffering from avoidant restrictive food intake disorder when she sought help for the child.

After spending some time with a hypnotherapist, Thompson is now able to eat full meals at her home in Swindon.

Her mother said: "People don't really understand that it is an illness, not just fussiness."
