A pair of giraffes have been rescued from a flooded island in Kenya.
Conservationist group Save Giraffes Now posted footage of the daring rescue online, showing a female giraffe named Asiwa being loaded onto a steel barge and being transported four miles down a river to safety.
Six giraffes remain on the island but there are plans to rescue them in the coming months.
David O'Connor, the president of Save Giraffes Now, said: "There is great urgency to execute this rescue.
"We couldn't have asked for a better result, and we're eager to move the others soon. With giraffe undergoing a silent extinction, every one we can protect matters."
The rescued giraffes will be moved to the Ruko Community Wildlife sanctuary, where they will be gradually integrated into the surroundings.
