A new poll has revealed that men get hot under the collar when hearing a French woman while women are turned on whenever they hear an Irish accent.
2,000 Brits were surveyed for the poll - 1,000 men and 1,000 women - but the English accent did not make the top ten for either gender and had less than one per cent of the vote.
Jessica Leoni, from the dating site IllicitEncounters, said: "Have you ever found somebody sexy until they opened their mouth? Attraction isn't just based on looks, so we surveyed 2,000 members to find the foxiest twang in the world.
"French has been crowned the language of love, with 24 per cent of all men finding this to be the sexiest language of them all. The French speak in a breathy and husky tone, with pronunciation that is delivered poetically.
"And for women, the lucky Irish accent is the sexiest of them all in a man."
