Social media influencers are going crazy for the Thai delicacy durian, a bizarre fruit that tastes like custard or almonds but has a stench that has been compared to raw sewage.
Colin Bannell, who sells durian through his My Exotic Fruit company in Essex, claimed that the fruit's popularity has soared recently - particularly among YouTube and TikTok stars.
He said: "Lots of people enjoy it on their holidays and want to savour it when they return home. Durian has a notoriety due to its smell, so it is a popular subject for YouTubers and TikTok reviewers.
"One video review of durian has been watched by more than two million."
However, the foul-smelling fruit is not popular everywhere as it has been banned in hotels and on public transport in Asia.
