A fifth of adult men in the UK snuggle up to a teddy bear at night.
A new survey from The Sun and electronics retailer ao.com has revealed that millions of men across the nation are comforted by a bear when they sleep, with just 23 per cent saying they feel embarrassed about owning a teddy.
The number also rises higher in London, with one in three chaps admitting that they are comforted by a teddy at night.
Psychologist Emma Kenny said of the findings: "We all have an inner child. I am surprised so many admitted to this — but it is a good thing.
"Many adults find comfort in soft toys. Firstly, because they are a connector with childhood that is often symbolic of a time free of responsibility.
"And also as they offer psychological anchors, which can help as stress-reducers and soothers."
