Cindy Lamb, the chair of the Franklin County Animal Shelter has no clue as to how the large bird -believed to the kind that roams the land in Australia at up to speeds of 30 miles per hour but is yet unconfirmed - got there or if he belongs to anyone.

A grainy photo was posted to Facebook taken by a concerned citizen appealing for help with the caption reading: “Ferrum folks we need your help! Who has emu's (yes, emu). We have one on the loose and need help locating owner. From Ferrum college to Crossroads area.”

Cindy told local news outlets that no one has reported the bird missing int the two weeks it is believed to have been on the loose and there are plans to capture it when it is found.
