A duck is going on a blind date after its owner posted a lonely hearts ad.
The feathery romantic - simply called called Yellow Duck - was left heartbroken after its last lover was tragically eaten by a bobcat.
However, it will now meet with a prospective partner this weekend over a plate of its favourite food, slugs.
Yellow Duck's owner, Chris Morris, sent out a lonely hearts advert for the animal last month, which read: ''Duck Seeking Duck. Lonesome runner duck seeks companion.
''Partner recently deceased... Serious replies only.''
Farm owner Sadie Greene noticed the ad, and realised her 'slew of male ducks' may provide a suitable partner for Yellow Duck.
She and Morris now plan to introduce the lovebirds.
Morris told the Bangor Daily News: ''We will try to create a mood, maybe set them up on a date. It is possible they might attack each other. We don't know.
''I think we have to provide a private, romantic space for them, something they can share.
''Yellow Duck's favourite food is a slug, so maybe we can set up a nice little plate for them.''
