A duck with a fishing hook in his mouth in Michigan was rescued after getting stuck on the ice.
Volunteers from the Michigan Duck Rescue and Sanctuary arrived at the scene and saved him from any more danger after a call about a distressed bird stranded on the icy Detroit River, which was posted on Facebook.
The alert read: "We have an extreme emergency and I’m looking for help with anyone near the downtown area near the Riverwalk.
In reply to a concerned commenter, the animal rescue organisation confirmed the little guy being brought to safety.
They wrote: “No answer from several numbers,” in reference to the coast guard, “But we got him” using a ladder and a tow rope.
After his mouth injuries are healed, they intend to release the duck back into the wild.
