''Drunk'' raccoons have been spotted wandering round a Canadian neighbourhood.
One of the normally nocturnal creatures was spotted by Ottawa resident Emily Rodgers who saw him struggling to stand up and ''wobbling'', and similar instances have been reported recently.
According to Carleton University biology professor Michel Runtz, the most likely cause is raccoons overindulging on fermented
fruit.
He told CBC Ottawa: ''It's possible that some of the fruit is fermenting under the heat, and that these guys are getting a bit tipsy by eating that fermenting fruit.''
