A drunken moose had to be rescued after falling into a pond.
The antlered beast, known as ''Monty'', became intoxicated after gorging on fermented berries in the Russian city of Semenov and had to be rescued by police officers after drunkenly meandering into the pool of water, reports the Daily Express newspaper.
Officer Pavel Mahachkov said: ''The beast was bonkers on booze. It was a magnificent specimen but he was so sozzled he could barely stand.
''We managed to rope him and get him transported to an animal shelter for the night where he slept it off.''
