A drunken man in Maine took the wrong taxi and tried to get into a house he mistakenly thought was his home.
Cape Elizabeth police say the man from Falmouth wrongly got into a Lyft, which had been called by a man who lived next door.
According to the police, the drunken man was dropped off on early Saturday morning and staggered toward a nearby home, incorrectly believing it to be his.
He caused a commotion trying to get in, which led the startled homeowner to summon the police.
Cape Elizabeth Police Chief Paul Fenton confirmed that the intoxicated man was taken back to the police station to sober up.
He added that the homeowner was understanding and didn't want to press charges.
