Donald Trump has proposed the idea of feeding migrants to alligators.
The former US president shared a meme on his Truth Social platform that implied that the country's border crisis could be fixed by feeding migrants to the reptiles.
Trump shared an image of half a dozen gators at the edge of some water facing a fence. It stated 'new border security' at the top and 'will work for food' at the bottom.
The snap was captioned: "Problem solved!!"
Trump shared the post as areas such as New York City face an increasing migrant crisis - with US border apprehensions reported to have reached 8,000 on Monday (18.09.23).
The billionaire has previously floated the idea of using alligators to stop illegal immigration into the US as The New York Times newspaper reported that Trump "often talked about fortifying a border wall with a water-filled trench, stocked with snakes or alligators".
Along with the reptile moat, the publication also claimed that Trump "wanted the wall electrified, with spikes on top that could pierce human flesh".
Trump's White House successor Joe Biden has been criticised for failing to address the migrant crisis and the president did not mention the issue when he spoke at a United Nations leaders reception in the Big Apple earlier this week.
