Donald Trump would have let Russia annex parts of Ukraine to end the war.
The former US president has suggested that he could have "made a deal" with Vladimir Putin to allow Moscow to seize some Ukrainian territory had he been in the White House at the time of the invasion.
Trump added that it would have been an "at worst" scenario as Putin would not have dared to invade Ukraine if he was in office and pointed out that other presidents have been unable to control Russian aggression in the same way that he did.
The maverick politician told radio host Sean Hannity: "Don't forget, under Bush they took over Georgia, under Obama they took over Crimea. And, under Biden, they're taking over everything.
"It looks like they're going to take over everything, the whole thing, they're going to go for the whole enchilada, they're going for everything, that's what it looks like for me.
"And, under Trump, you know what they took over? They took nothing, Russia. First time, first president in a long time. He (Putin) understood. He would never have done it."
Trump is also convinced that he may have been able to negotiate a deal with the Russian tyrant to stop the conflict.
He said: "At worst, I could have made a deal to take over something, you know, there are certain areas that are Russian speaking areas, right, like, but you could have worked a deal. And now Ukraine is just being blown to smithereens."
