On Monday (11.01.16) the news spread that the 'China Girl' hitmaker had died following an 18-month battle with liver cancer and on the same day, the space exploration institute revealed Bowie had been correct to use the name for his Ziggy Stardust backing band, the Spiders from Mars.

The planet is apparently covered in massive terrains that are referred to as ''spiders'' because of their spindly appearance in photographs of the red planet and Nasa has released stunning pictures of the phenomena, scientifically known as ''radical troughs.''
