A crow is feared dead after getting hooked on cigarettes.
The bird forged a close bond with Pete Catt after getting the taste for his Amber Leaf tobacco. The crow would steal cigarettes out of his mouth and would bring him old fag butts.
Catt, from East Sussex, named the thieving crow Craig and cared for it for over two months when it paid daily visits to his garden.
However, the bird has now vanished and has not been seen by Catt since last October.
He told The Sun newspaper: "It first landed on my back as I was digging in the garden and kept getting under the shovel.
"From then on, it constantly followed me around, never leaving me alone.
"One day I rolled a cigarette and it nicked it. I offered it a light and it appeared to nod its head.
"We don’t know what happened, but maybe it was the cigarettes that did it."
