A cowboy hat is being sold for £17,000.
The iconic item was worn by movie star John Wayne in five of his famed Westerns, The Comancheros, McLintock!, The Sons Of Katie Elder, El Dorado and The Undefeated, and is being auctioned off by a private owner in Los Angeles.
The seller purchased a collection of the late actor's possessions following his death in 1988 and believes the hat - which features John's name written inside the rim - will fetch tens of thousands of pounds during the sale at Nate D Sanders next Tuesday, reports The Express Newspaper.
Auction manager Laura Yntema said: ''The hat not only has cinematic value but personal value too. Wayne was famous for being close to the people he worked with and he was known for being rather generous towards his friends. It will probably be purchased by a fan or an institution.''
