A fast food thief has been nicknamed the 'Cookie Monster' by police.

Authorities in Washington state are investigating a strange robbery after someone broke into a Chicken Shack restaurant and stole a batch of cookies, which were dropped on his way out.
The West Richland Police Department revealed the 'Sesame Street' inspired nickname on Facebook, and added: ''We checked the building and it turns out the bandit made his way out prior to our arrival. ''The Surveillance video showed the suspect enter and go to the counter area where he takes several cookies from a tray next to the register.
''All that for cookies which he dropped on the way out leaving a trail for us to follow. (sic)''
