Thousands of Brussels sprouts spilled out into a road in Scotland.
Police joked that Christmas dinners may be at risk after a trailer overturned, leaving mountains of the festive vegetables piled up as officers were called to the scene in Fife.
They reported that there were no injuries, although the sprouts were unlikely to be eaten on Christmas Day (25.12.19).
South West Fife police tweeted: ''There's been a bit of a #BrusselSprouts accident at the roundabout at Admiralty Road, #Rosyth.
''Please avoid the area if possible. Traffic and #Christmas dinners may be affected. Apologies for any delays.''
Naturally, social media users saw the chance to poke fun at the incident.
One user tweeted: ''Was the lorry sprout of control at the time?''
Another saw the chance to make a Brexit themed joke, writing: ''It's what happens when you are enforced to abandon Brussels. (sic)''
