Research has found fish and chips is the one meal people would crave if they were stranded on a desert island.
In a survey conducted by Just Eat ahead of their launch for Just Eat Food Fest: Desert Island Dishes 2017, national voters ranked the battered fish feast as the top treat they would want to tuck into if they were stranded on an uninhabited area of land, as the British meal gained 25 per cent of the vote.
And those who took part in the study also ranked a traditional Sunday Roast and a Chinese sweet and sour meal as their favourite dishes, which took second and third place.
However, an Indian Madras was pitted as the least favourite choice of food for stranded people.
Voters also claimed their top choice for company would be their pets or British adventurer Bear Grylls, as he would pass on his survival skills to help them make it off the island alive.
