Snake found in take-away box on plane

A corn snake was found in a take-away box onboard a plane.

''No Samuel L, but an actual snake on a plane. Police about to meet @easyJetarriving from Tel Aviv to Luton.''

Passengers travelling from Israel to London Luton on an easyJet aircraft were left shocked when police had to emergency stop the flight and remove the slithery reptile.

One stunned passenger, Rafi Addleston, wrote on Twitter: ''No Samuel L, but an actual snake on a plane. Police about to meet @easyJetarriving from Tel Aviv to Luton.''

While, Michael Harris, wrote: ''Just landed at @LDNLutonAirport with @easyJet... Police about to board to arrest guy who brought on a... snake... on the plane! (sic)''

A spokeswoman for easyJet said: ''The non-poisonous snake remained in its container at all times and passengers were not in any danger.

''We have raised the issue with the airport to understand why the animal was not detected during security.

''The safety of passengers is always our highest priority.''

Boarder control staff allowed the offending passenger to leave the airport with his pet.
