Oysters hit with herpes movement ban

''were no implications for human health''

Oysters have been hit with a movement ban in Britain because they have herpes.

There is no cure for the deadly disease affecting the aphrodisiac food stuff and it has already wiped out nearly 80 per cent of the seafood product on farms in France.

Despite the fishy epidemic, a spokesman for the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science said informed there ''were no implications for human health''.

The latest outbreak came at an oyster farm in Dorset, south west England.
