A music-mad man has given up buying albums after purchasing every number one album since the UK charts began.
''If I started reading the covers and getting them out I'd never get round to it.''
Roy Jackson is planning to stop collecting number ones after he bought Robbie Williams' 'Swings Both Ways', the 1,000th chart-topper, more than 50 years after his first purchase, Frank Sinatra's 'Songs for Swingin' Lovers'.
The 66-year-old collector is quoted by the Manchester Evening News as saying: ''I think 1,000 is a nice figure to stop at, although it's not the first time I have decided to stop!
''If I started reading the covers and getting them out I'd never get round to it.''
