Judge marries killer after sending him to prison
A judge conducted a killer's wedding just minutes after sending him to prison for 53 years.
''But, I've never seen anything like that.''
Danne Desbrow tied the knot with fiancee Destiny in the same courtroom where he was sentenced for life after being found guilty of killing Kevin Santos in 2003, but San Diego Superior Court Judge Patricia Cookson allowed him to marry his lover and even brought out a homemade cake for the occasion.
Desbrow's lawyer told the San Diego U-T newspaper: ''I didn't know it was going to happen.
''Obviously, it was an unusual day from start to finish. I mean, I appreciate that she honoured the request for them to marry.
''But, I've never seen anything like that.''
Destiny attended every day of Danne's two-month court case, in which he claimed he had only been defending himself in a fight.
