A drunk woman flushed her lottery winnings down the toilet.
The intoxicated woman reportedly flushed £330,000 down the loo after receiving unwanted bills from her late husband's care home.
Angela Maier was so delighted with her £330,000 windfall that she downed five bottles of champagne before drunkenly tearing up the remaining cash and disposing of it down the toilet.
Immediately after downing the bubbly Mrs Maier received a bill from the care home where her husband had died who - prompted by her win on the German national lottery - were seeking payment for his medical expenses.
The intoxicated 63-year-old became so angry when she read the letter she decided to tear up the money instead of paying the bills.
A court in her home city of Essen, West Germany, heard that Mrs Maier could have made up the story as it would be difficult to prove she had destroyed the money.
She has since agreed to pay £3,300 to settle the case.
