Wildlife park bans leopard print clothing

''If they wear the pattern of its predator, it has the opposite effect and the animals become afraid and run away.''

A British wildlife park has banned visitors from wearing leopard print.

Chessington World of Adventures in south west London has brought bouncers in to enforce its new strict rule after becoming concerned the clothing style is confusing the animals in their new 'ZUFARI: Ride Into Africa!' attraction, which enables people to get up close to giraffes, rhinos, flamingos and waterbuck.

Park spokeswoman Natalie Dilloway said: ''Visitors get so close to wild species that if someone wears the same pattern to the animal's coat they can become over-friendly.

''If they wear the pattern of its predator, it has the opposite effect and the animals become afraid and run away.''

Anyone who turns up to the park in leopard print clothing will be given a grey boiler suit to wear.
