An art thief has threatened to sue a museum for making his robbery too easy.
''I could not imagine that a museum would exhibit such valuable works with so little security.''
Radu Dogaru is among six Romanians on trial for his part in a three-minute heist from the Kunsthal museum in Rotterdam, and after he admitted to taking pieces by legendary artists including Monet and Picasso, he expressed his shock that such valuable artworks were on display with ''so little security''.
He told the court: ''I could not imagine that a museum would exhibit such valuable works with so little security.''
Defence lawyer Catalin Dancu said: ''We can clearly speak of negligence with serious consequences.''
Dogaru faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
