Floating rubbish island discovered
A floating island of rubbish three times bigger than Britain has been discovered off the coast of California.
Scientists are concerned the pile, made up of five million tons of debris including boats, parts of homes and cars, will cause huge environmental problems if it strikes the state at the same time.
Keeley Belva, a NOAA spokeswoman, revealed more than 1,600 reports of debris have been traced back to the tsunami, but experts are not sure when the huge rubbish island will hit land.
