Four inmates have escaped from a US prison through the jail's plumbing system.
''four suspicious-looking men in orange jumpsuits''
The quartet have sparked a nationwide manhunt after fleeing the facility, but authorities only found out they had gone when a member of public rang up and reported seeing ''four suspicious-looking men in orange jumpsuits'' walking outside the building.
The inmates escaped by prising open a hatch above the shower and then crawling through the water ducts before getting to a wall.
They navigated the concrete barricade by pushing through a cement block before finding themselves in front of an unlocked door outside the prison.
A jail source is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: ''All neighbouring forces have been alerted to the escapees. We are actively looking for the men.
''Their escape seems as easy as it does daring. There are several red faces at the prison and the Governor is fuming.''
