Chickens invade Ohio suburb

A group of chickens have outraged Ohio residents after setting up roost in their community.

''Our worry is that they keep getting killed and they are starving ... It's not their fault because they can't help the situation...all we want is the right thing for the animals.''

The gang of chickens have been turning gardens into barnyards since their mysterious arrival and are showing no signs of moving on.

Residents are calling for the chickens to be removed from the street to reduce damage to their houses.

In an interview with WDTN-TV, Elizabeth King, who lives on the street, said that the situation had 'gotten out of control because there are so many of them.'

Fellow resident Arby Presley, said: ''Our worry is that they keep getting killed and they are starving ... It's not their fault because they can't help the situation...all we want is the right thing for the animals.''

Local authorities in are currently attempting to move the chickens to a nearby farm but fear it could be a few months before they are all caught.
