A man watched his truck explode on the news
A man in Florida watched the news in horror as his beloved pickup truck - which had been stolen without his knowledge - burst into flames after a high-speed car chase.
''That really hurt me to my heart. My whole insides just felt, to see my truck just burnt like that.''
Willie Kelly was watching as his pride and joy burst into flames on the news, after it was stolen and involved in a high speed car chase.
The man loved his pickup truck so much that he'd given it a nickname, and was devastated to see the black Chevrolet Silverado crash into a pole and explode near his home in Florida.
Kelly was unaware it had been stolen until his mother-in-law phoned him saying she'd seen it on the news.
He told local reporters: ''That really hurt me to my heart. My whole insides just felt, to see my truck just burnt like that.''
The car thieves managed to escape the blaze after pulling themselves out of the wreck, climbing over a road barrier and swimming across a canal.
