Russell Brand book banned from Guantanamo Bay
''amuses himself [and me] by testing what the censors will let through''
Russell Brand's autobiography 'Booky Wooky 2' has reportedly been banned from Guantánamo Bay, according to Saudi national prisoner Shaker Aamer.
The 38-year-old comedian is renowned for his crude sense of humour, however because of this his tome is now forbidden from the detention camp.
Speaking in the New Statesmen, Saudi national Shaker Aamer, 44 - who has been imprisoned for 12 years - said his lawyer ''amuses himself [and me] by testing what the censors will let through'' as reading material.
He joked: ''I understand that Brand uses too many rude words.
''I suppose you have to be amused by that: the US military is solicitous of my sensitive nature, and wants to protect me from swearing.''
