A bird has travelled 8,000 miles non-stop from Alaska to Australia.
The bar-tailed godwit has been likened to a jet fighter for its aerodynamic shape and surpassed its own world record with the epic voyage.
The male bird, which was carrying a tiny solar-powered satellite tracker, left the US on September 17 and flew for 239 hours before arriving Down Under 10 days later.
The creature had been heading for its summer grounds in New Zealand but winds across the Pacific forced it to take a detour.
The same godwit had broken the world record last year when it flew non-stop from Alaska to New Zealand.
Male godwits weigh up to 14oz and eat molluscs, worms and insects to double in size before embarking on long flights across the globe.
Bar-tailed godwits breed in Alaska but spend the summer in New Zealand during every year of their expected lifespan.
