Fire brigade called to TV show stunt
Firefighters were called to a TV show launch after it appeared as though one of London's famous landmarks was on fire.
The emergency services arrived at Battersea Power Station during the launch of British adventurer Bear Grylls' latest series 'Bear Grylls: Escape from Hell' as many thought flames projected onto the side of the building during a stunt was a real fire.
After Bear had abseiled down the side of the Power Station in west London planned explosions followed which led people on the other side of the River Thames calling the fire brigade to report the building being alight.
A fire brigade spokesman said: ''We were called at 7.50pm. We attended and as soon as we got there we realised it wasn't an incident for us.''
TV presenter Richard Bacon, who was hosting the launch, made light of the situation.
He said: ''We asked the fire brigade why they were here and they said people had called them saying there was a fire.
''This is definitely the most exciting TV show launch I've ever been to!''
Bear is back in brand new series, 'Bear Grylls: Escape from Hell', premiering on Discovery Channel on October 7 at 9pm (Sky 520 and Virgin 211).
