Astronomers will use a super-powered telescope to hunt for aliens.
The James Webb telescope has already beamed back the most detailed images ever seen from space and experts are now planning to look for little green men by zooming in on the six planets most like Earth.
Laura Kreidberg, from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Germany, said: "I feel like we're at the beginning of a really exciting journey."
She told New Scientist that they are looking for rocky planets with atmospheres to match that of the Earth.
Kreidberg suggested that the human race "may be in for a very big surprise" as the experts look through all six planets.
Meanwhile, it was recently claimed that the world's economy could collapse if secrets about aliens are revealed.
Washington lobbyist Stephen Bassett is convinced that the US government has its hands on alien technology but is refusing to disclose information due to economic fears.
