People are being encouraged to dress like a vampire to break a world record.
Whitby Abbey is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as the blood-sucking monsters to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Bram Stoker's classic novel 'Dracula'.
The record attempt will take place on 26 May with vampire dress defined as black trousers, skirt or dress, black shoes, waistcoat, shirt, black cape or collared overcoat and fangs on the top set of teeth.
Mark Williamson, site manager of Whitby Abbey, said: "The challenge of breaking this record is an exciting one and we look forward to welcoming would-be vampires to Whitby Abbey on 26 May for a fun evening of entertainment and hopefully a successful new record too."
The current record was sent in Virginia, when 1,039 vampires gathered in 2011.
