An app can translate cats' meows into human language.
The AI-powered MeowTalk app interprets the noises made by felines into basic phrases such as "I'm bored", "I'm hungry" and "Leave me alone".
The app has been developed by Javier Sanchez and works by identifying a cat's sound and linking it to one of 13 pre-set vocalisations before turning it into human language.
The 'Dr Dolittle' tech has an Alexa-style function that can pick up the noises and send pet owners a translation on their phone when detected.
Sanchez claims that the app has allowed pet owners to take their moggies to a vet after discovering they were in pain or distress.
The app creators say: "Each cat has their own unique vocabulary that they use to communicate with their owners consistently when in the same context.
"We can use machine learning to interpret a cat's meows and translate that into a human-readable language."
