Over 700 metal spheres have been recovered from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean and Harvard physicist Professor Avi Loeb says they contain strange alloys that are not found on our solar system.
It is not clear if the fragments are natural but Professor Loeb is refusing to rule out the prospect of the objects belonging to an alien spaceship.
He said: "This is a historic discovery because it represents the first time that humans put their hand on materials from a large object that arrived to Earth from outside the solar system."
Professor Loeb spent years working with the US military to locate the alien material and thinks the discovery is a triumph for science.
He said: "The success of the expedition illustrates the value of taking risks in science despite all odds as an opportunity for discovering new knowledge."
