A pair of "alien mummies" found in Peru are just dolls with Earthly origins.
Scientists have asserted that the two small specimens discovered at the airport in the capital city Lima last year were fashioned from both human and animal parts.
A separate three-fingered hand thought to be from Peru's Nazca region was also analysed as the experts ruled out an extraterrestrial connection.
Mexican UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan had claimed that the mummies were around 1,000 years old and not related to any known species.
The suggestions were dismissed by many sceptical experts and the new findings appear to have debunked them completely.
Flavio Estrada, an archaeologist with Peru's Institute for Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, said: "They're not extraterrestrials. They're dolls made from animal bones from this planet joined together with synthetic glue.
"It's totally a made-up story."
