Scott Weiland has been found dead on his tour bus aged 48. The former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman was touring with his group Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts when he was discovered at around 9pm last night (03.12.15), according to TMZ. A statement on his Instagram page confirmed his death, saying: "Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts. At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott's family be respected." The rockers were due to play a gig at the Medina Ballroom in Minnesota last night but the show was cancelled. Scott - who has two kids, Noah, 15, and Lucy, 13 - has struggled with substance abuse in the past but it's not yet clear what caused his death. Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro took to his Twitter account to reveal he was "gutted" about the news. He wrote: "Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight" As well as his career as a singer for Stone Temple Pilots and supergroup Velvet Revolver, Scott also released four albums as a solo artist.
