Hands up if you’re excited about the latest 80s film to get remade – we’re talking about Highlander – and one reason to definitely get excited about it is that Ryan Reynolds will be taking the lead role. Ryan Reynolds, who proved he can handle Blockbusters when he impressed us all in The Green Lantern is said to be very excited about the role. Christopher Lambert played the lead in the original Highlander and now it will be Ryan who takes on the character of Conor MacLeod. The story will be the same as the original film – Conor as an immortal tortured by centuries of having to live as such, fighting for the prize of his own mortality. Ryan’s love life has been talked about a lot this week too. He is currently dating Blake Lively – yet another blonde bombshell. Well, he started with marrying Scarlett Johansson so he has to keep his standards up – and Blake has only recently split with Leonardo DiCaprio so she has some pretty high standards too. Gossip Girl star Blake is apparently living with Ryan in an apartment just outside of New York – and one thing which has confused us is that despite them living together, they don’t appear to be official yet. And it is this which is causing a problem with Ryan’s family – they don’t think he should be in an official relationship with Blake Lively. Ryan’s mum has reportedly described Blake as Overbearing and career-orientated, and well, as you’d expect Blake wasn’t too impressed with this and it has caused a bit of a family rift. So, although Ryan has some good news with the fact he is to star in the Highlander re-make – he also has the 2 women in his life arguing – we feel for him!
