George Clooney's parents' new dog is the "love of their lives". The 'Hail, Caesar!' surprised Nick and Nina Clooney on Christmas Eve (24.12.15) with disabled pooch Nate because he knew it was the only way to get them to accept another canine companion into their lives following the recent death of their beloved 10-year-old terrier. George said: "I kept saying to my dad, 'You're going to adopt another dog,' because they've always sort of found them wandering on the street. And he said, 'No, no, never again. I'm done with this.' So I knew they needed a dog and he wasn't going to take one. "So I found this dog that was handicapped. [He was] born with a leg that kind of hangs out this way, and he's a mess! "I called the lady up and I said, 'On Christmas Eve, can you deliver this dog to my parents' house?' Because what are [they] going to do, kick a handicapped dog out of the house? "They brought him on and now he's the love of their lives. They love him." And the 54-year-old actor - who has three rescue dogs of his own with wife Amal - can see similarities between himself and Nate, who came from the LuvFurMutts Animal Rescue in Ohio. He joked to 'Entertainment Tonight': "He's very famous in my mom and dad's hometown of Augusta, Kentucky. "He's gone from a shelter in Cincinnati to fame -- much like I did, really."
