Stephen Graham will be "very sad" to finish filming 'This England'.

The 40-year-old actor is to reprise his role of Combo in 'The is England 90', the forthcoming third series of the drama franchise - a spin-off from the 2006 film - but he feels emotional about leaving the character behind because the part was such a big turning point in his career.

He said: "That character has been such a huge and important part of my life. That character, that film basically, changed my life.

"So I will be very sad to see him go, but at the end of the day, it's been so great to be able to play a character for such a long time and to grow with it.

"It will be very sad for everyone involved with the finale."

Director Shane Meadows has previously revealed 'This is England 90', which is expected to air in 2014, will be the last instalment in the series following on from 2011's 'This is England 88' and 2010's 'This is England 86', but Stephen insists the cast don't even know when filming is going to start again.

He added to Digital Spy: "In typical Meadows fashion, no-one has got a clue really when it's coming back. No-one's got a clue what's going to happen or what's going on, but we're just all really looking forward to doing it.

"Shane wanted to take a break. He did the Stone Roses documentary and wanted to take a break before the next one. That's understandable."
