Piers Morgan has claimed 'Britain's Got Talent' bosses approached him "several times" to return to the show when Simon Cowell broke his back.

The 'Good Morning Britain' presenter was one of the programme's original judges alongside Simon and Amanda Holden when the programme launched in 2007, and 'BGT' bosses were keen for him to return to his chair to step in for the music mogul, but Piers would rather return alongside the head judge.
He said: "I was approached several times to go back to 'Britain's Got Talent' when Simon Cowell got injured.
"That would have been quite fun, but I'd rather do it with him."
Piers claims no one else has ever had the same "great chemistry" he shared with Simon on the talent show's panel.
He added to OK! magazine: "He and I had a great chemistry and it would have been quite a fun one to go back in and have a laugh with Simon, but he'd have to be involved.
"I've seen how other people are with him, but no one quite has the rapport we had. I'd never say never."
Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo took Simon's place for the 'BGT' live semi-finals and final, after the star broke his back falling off his electric bike.
Last week, it was revealed Piers had been approached about returning to the show, in a bid by show bosses to "revitalise the series".
A source said: "'Britain’s Got Talent' is one of the few Saturday night shows which continues to shine and stay relevant.
"But all shows need refreshing, and Piers will certainly do that. He has been approached by two senior execs and, for his part, has said he would do it if the terms are right.
"He will give the show back its edge and provide those brilliant water cooler moments. He will revitalise the series."
