BBC announces new drama on kidnapping of Chloe Ayling

The model and former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant, 25, was abducted by a sex trafficking gang after being lured to a fake photoshoot in Italy’s fashion capital Milan.

Chloe told her harrowing story to police explaining she had been drugged and stuffed in a bag where she was held captive in a remote farmhouse for six days and recalled being auctioned off for £250,000.

Lukasz Herba, the kidnapper who lured the model to Italy under false pretences, was convicted on June 11, 2018 and jailed for 16 years.

The six-part series is called ‘Kidnapped’ and is written Georgia Lester, who worked on shows like ‘Killing Eve’ and bosses have described her scripts as "exemplary " as they explore the "jaw-dropping" story.

Head of Drama for BBC Studios and show's executive producer, Priscilla Parish said: “This is a jaw-dropping true story of a woman who survived a horrific ordeal using her wits, but was vilified in the aftermath.

"Georgia’s scripts are exemplary in their treatment of this highly topical subject matter.”

Chloe was “excited” to learn that the BBC is adapting her story into a factual drama, which is based on her memoir ‘Kidnapped – The Untold Story Of My Abduction’ and filming is set to begin later this year, with a cast yet to be announcd.

She said: “I am excited that BBC Studios are telling my story and that the wider world will get to know the truth about what happened to me and learn of the many details that weren’t brought to light originally.

“Georgia Lester and the team have been incredibly supportive in our conversations, and I couldn’t be happier that they are making this series.”
