Bargain Hunt is celebrating King Charles III's Coronation

Christina Trevanion called it an “absolute honour” to host an edition of the BBC One daytime antiques programme marking the 74-year-old monarch being crowned.

The 41-year-old television presenter said: “It is an absolute honour to have been asked to present this special episode of 'Bargain Hunt' to mark the Coronation of King Charles III. I’m lucky to have been present at previous royal occasions, including the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and Platinum Jubilee, as well as VE Day and VJ Day.”

The episode will see both teams be handed £300 to scour Newark Antiques Fair in Nottinghamshire - along with regal assistance from regular experts Roo Irvine and Raj Bisram - for royal trinkets to be added to the auction catalogue at Richard Winterton Auctioneers in the city of Lichfield.

Christina will also show off some beauties from Queen Elizabeth’s reign - which is the longest on record as it lasted for more than 70 years until her death last September aged 96 - like a scarcely found Queen Elizabeth II stool and ticket to her own coronation in 1953.

The installment of the long-running series comes a day before 2,000 people - including US First Lady Jill Biden, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ presenting duo Ant and Dec and singing superstar Lionel Richie - will take their seats in London’s Westminster Abbey to see King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla formally ascend the throne.

'Bargain Hunt Coronation Special' is on Friday (05.05.23) on BBC One.
