The old saying goes that two wrongs don’t make a right, but a new survey by AshleyMadison.com shows that Brits are throwing that saying out the window and cheating on their partners as a form of retaliation.
A staggering 94 per cent of those who’ve been cheated on have admitted that they have then gone on to cheat themselves.
This is shocking as they will already know the hurt and suffering infidelity can bring on a relationship from going through it themselves previously.
Although 35 per cent of people said that their reason for straying was due to being unsatisfied sexually in their relationship, the second most common reason was to get revenge on their partner.
The married dating site is sure that Liberty Ross will get revenge on her director husband, so sure in fact that they are offering her membership to their site.
CEO of AshleyMadison.com Noel Biderman said, “I have no doubt that Liberty Ross will follow suit and cheat on Rupert within the next few months. Her self-defence mechanism will kick in and she will show Rupert that it’s not just him that’s happy to sleep around.
“In order to aid her bid to retaliate, we are going to extend an offer to Ms Ross of complimentary lifetime membership on our site.
“Monogamy is an idyllic myth which has never been realistic. We are sexual beings that naturally desire what we can’t have and being cheated on gives us the perfect excuse to go ahead and get it.
“It is also no surprise to me that our poll showed that a sexless marriage is the primary reason for pursuing an affair– sex is fundamental to any partnership and if we can’t get sexual satisfaction at home then it’s quite natural to go elsewhere and find it.”
Surely, instead of making your partner suffer the way you did you would just leave them? But the figures are speaking for themselves on this one!
